Insanely Good Chocolate Milk
Chocolate milk is a classic childhood favorite of mine. It’s so delish, and a great way to get a daily chocolate fix. I love chocolate milk, but I don’t love that store-bought chocolate milk is full of sugar and other nasty additives. Luckily, I whipped up an easy DIY chocolate milk that tastes just as good, and it’s HEALTHY AF.
I posted this on my Instagram last week, and you guys wanted the DEETS! This is my favorite recipe to have when I need a late-night dose of chocolate. It’s quick, easy, and it’s a great alternative to eating a big, calorie-heavy dessert before bedtime.
This is also so great to have during that time of the month. It’s guilt-free chocolate milk that won’t make you bloated or weigh you down.
LIFE HACK! Add in a scoop of fiber to feel more full for longer. Fiber is so great for weight loss and keeping you regular. You can’t taste the powder at all, and there’s no weird texture.
The star ingredient in this chocolate milk is cocoa powder. This is one of my favorite ingredients, and it’s full of health benefits. The powder is made by crushing cocoa beans and removing the fat.
Cocoa powder is packed with polyphenols, AKA naturally occurring antioxidants. (These are found in wine too, so drink up!!) (1)
Benefits of Cocoa Powder:
~ Reduced inflammation
~ Improved cholesterol
~ Lower blood pressure
~ Improved brain function and blood flow
~ Mood booster
You want to make sure you’re getting the right cocoa powder (one without any extra stuff). I love getting my cocoa powder from Thrive Market. I know they have the best quality for the cheapest price. If you want another option, I’ll also link a good cocoa powder from Amazon down below!
What You Need:
All you need for healthy homemade chocolate milk is:
~ A blender
~ Your fav plant-based milk (or regular, I don’t judge)
~ Maple syrup
~ Optional! Extra FIBER BOOST.
Throw everything in the blender, and blend for 30 seconds! I like to blend mine for a while so it gets super frothy. It’s SO easy, and SO delish.
Healthy Chocolate Milk
- 1 glass milk of choice
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 scoop fiber powder (optional)
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high for around 30 seconds. The longer you blend, the more fluffy and frothy the milk becomes!
I’m truly obsessed with this homemade chocolate milk. I love getting a mood-boost from the cocoa, and a sweet chocolate fix! I don’t think I’ll ever go back to store-bought.
