There is nothing better than curling up with a delicious masala chai latte. It’s so cozy and comforting! Ditch the Starbucks, and make your own delicious chai latte. You and your wallet will thank me later. 🙂
I dread spending $6 every time I want chai tea latte at the local coffee shop. Not to mention the headache that soon follows from the amount of sugar shops add to the latte! To save some money (and sanity) I went on a mission to make the best at-home masala chai latte ever.
If ‘masala’ chai is new to you, you’ve probably had it without knowing. It’s like enhanced regular chai. Masala chai has all of the delicious spices that normal chai does not, such as ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and more!
I recommend using my favorite masala chai mix, Blue Lotus Chai . It’s made with all-natural ingredients, and all organic spices. It’s much more convenient than buying all of the separate spices that are required to make a proper masala chai. The mix also comes with a cute little bamboo serving spoon!

Masala chai is known for its immunity-boosting ingredients. Ginger, cinnamon, elaichi, and cloves all support the immune system. Even better, all of these ingredients fight inflammation in the body. Talk about a superfood drink! 
Improve Your Digestion
Better digestion, anyone? Masala chai has ginger in it, a known ingredient to assist with digestion. Ginger does this by improving circulation and bringing oxygen to organs so they can properly perform. Black pepper is also in masala chai, which aids the pancreas in producing digestive enzymes. 
One of Masala Chai’s main ingredients, cinnamon, can help to lower bad cholesterol and blood pressure. Black tea, the base of masala chai, has healthy effects on the heart by lowering blood cholesterol levels. 
This is the ultimate homemade masala chai. It’s full of wholesome ingredients that will wake you up, and not give you a crash later.
All you need for this homemade magic is the Blue Lotus Chai mix, cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla, and your favorite plant based milk. (Or regular milk, I don’t judge).
You can either use a milk frother, or a blender.
Frother: If you’re in the market for one, you need this one. It can froth hot or cold drinks, and is SO chic in the kitchen.
Blender: If you want the best froth possible, you need a Vitamix. It can handle hot liquids, and will get you that fluffy latte consistency. If using a different blender, just make sure it can handle hot liquids! 🙂
Masala Chai Latte
- 1 cup plant based milk
- 1 tsp maple syrup (More or less, depending on how sweet you prefer!)
- 1 scoop chai mix (I do a heaping scoop!)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnimon
- Throw all of the ingredients in your frother or blender. If using a blender, make sure to heat your milk up first. I do mine over the stove for 45 sec-1 min. If using a frother, I like to whisk everything together before I start frothing, so there are no clumps!
- That's it! Blend/froth to your desired temperature/consistency. Enjoy!
